TRAINING
“It is surprising how little we need to give life to each other…simple words and images, making time and giving space to listen and to share a mixture of curiosity and openness wrapped in the comforting warmth of focussed loving attention.”
– Mark Davis
WORKSHOPS

A TWO DAY INRODUCTION TO FACILITATING CONVERSATION IN GROUPS
Within each conversation pack there is a suggested methodology and some advice about how to be in a conversation group. Experience suggests, however, that to make best use of the material, would-be facilitators could benefit from advice and assistance in preparation. Shoreline Conversations is offering two-day workshops in different parts of the country, for those who wish to avail of this opportunity.
FACILITATOR TRAINING

A SIX MONTH COURSE FOR GREATER IN-DEPTH STUDY
Those who wish to facilitate groups on a regular basis and see it as part of their own ministry to others may wish to undertake a longer training process. Shoreline Conversations offers a six-month training course in the facilitation of small groups comprising six full days and assessed practice sessions. Here participants are invited to go into greater depth and refine their attitudes and skills.
THE MICAH CONVERSATION

TRAINING MICAH FACILTATORS
This six-eight week pastoral development process is designed to help Christian communities in transition decide where to apportion limited time and energy. During this time of reflection, conversation prayer and discernment participants are invited to consider both their common life and their call to the service of others. In preparation Shoreline Conversations offers a two-day workshop for small group facilitators to enhance local ownership and involvement.
REFERENCE WORKS

FURTHER READING TO ENHANCE UNDERSTANDING
Every facilitator benefits from paying attention to different voices reflecting on their experience of working with groups. Over the next few months we will be providing access to helpful reading on different aspects of the subject and offering some of our own reflections. Gradually this will become a set of thoughtful reminders which we hope will be of value to practitioners. This will be in the form of articles and relevant publications – including both ‘Breathing Spaces’ and ‘Walking On The Shore – a way of sharing faith in groups’ by Mark Davis which are already available for purchase through this website.
